Day 28 – Use Data to Improve Your Lead Magnet Every Month
Day 28—your lead magnet isn’t set-and-forget.
Check monthly stats: opt-in page visits, conversions, email opens, clicks, and unsubscribes.
Adjust headlines, copy, or traffic sources based on what’s working or slipping.
Keep a simple log to spot trends and test changes.
We've talked about tracking and analyzing data in a lot of our lessons.
One key point is when you are developing your test criteria to, say, improving your opt-in rate, only change ONE small piece of your LCP at a time. Then test the changed page over the original page by sending traffic to both and tracking, in this case opt-in rates between the two pages.
The one with the higher percentage opt-ins wins and becomes your standard.
Then you can develop your next change to test in a similar manner.
-
- Set up tracking
- Analyze results
- Select the winner
- Put it to work.
- Repeat steps 1 –> 5
Notice how the last statement (#5) is a self-executing process? It doesn't leave you with “What do I do now?” You know you go back to step 1 and execute steps 1 –> 5 again. and so on and so on and so on.
Can you tell I get excited by tracking data?
It's true. Partially because of my Math degree in college but mostly because I became a data nerd (not technical expert but a HUGE data proponent in a business world filled with non-data centered people ; No offense former co-workers.)
Need help setting up tracking?
Reply with your questions.
Tomorrow, we’ll talk about turning attention into income without losing trust.
To Your Success,
