Day 14 – Use Data to Improve Your Lead Magnet Every Month
Day 14 is all about the numbers.
Your lead magnet needs regular check-ins to keep it converting.
- Track visitors
- Track opt-ins
- Track email open rates
- Track email click rates
- Track how many move to your offer.
To “Track” that means keep track of the data in each category.
For example, let's say you want to start with Tracking Clicks to your Lead Capture Page (LCP). So you would assign that LCP URL to what is known as a tracking link like ClickMagix. You schedule to check the data there let's say weekly on Saturday morning. Then every week you would check and record the data, say you got 1,000 clicks for the previous 7 days.
Then as you build up your data every week, you can start comparing if your clicks go up or down or stay the same.
There are a lot of things that affect your click rates.
- Time of the year
- Vacations
- Birthdays
- New Years resoltions.
- and on and on.
I could write a whole course on what affects business in general and your data in particular.
Don't be concerned by small movements of the data.
Look for trends you have some control over like maybe you just started posting to a safelist in the last week so if it's a good list, you would likely see increased clicks. If it's not a real active list or maybe an old list and the owner is not keeping it current, you might expect to see a drop.
The idea is to check your data and see if you need to change your marketing strategy and that's not something you change on an hourly or daily basis!
And if you track your data and start analyzing it, you will be ahead of 95% of online marketers in getting something out of your data that can ultimately make you more cash!
I know that sounds like a LOT but just start with one data tracking and add others as you get used to using it.
If something drops, tweak your headline, email copy, or promotion. Celebrate what’s working and double down.
Keeping a simple monthly log helps you spot trends and make smart decisions.
